Location:

Far away from civilization, that's where this Yukon log cabin is located. Right in front of this cabin you have your own beach at Quiet Lake. From Whitehorse is is a very scenic drive on the Alaska Highway and then up the South Canol road, a total of about 240 km. The windy, narrow gravel road ( South Canol Road)  leading deep into the Yukon wilderness. Already on  the drive out you can feel how remote this place will be without any other buildings in the area. Johnsons Crossing, 100 km away from the lake side cabin on the Alaska Highway is the closest point of civilization. Here you will have your privacy right by the water of Quiet Lake, a very secenic mountain lake surrounded by boreal forest.

You can get here in about 3 hours from Whitehorse with even with a car, high clearance preferred.

Set Up:

This cabin has room to accommodate 4 people. There is a futon bed in the loft for 2 people. Downstaiirs a fold out couch can serve as an extra bed for 2 more people. On the lower level you will find an open concept arrangement including a kitchen counter with a sink, a 2 burner propane stove ,dishes, pots and pans, and cutlery. Sitting by the window at the table offers a panoramic view across the lake. Or sit down with a book on the balcony for a relaxed afternoon.
For cool days, a wood stove takes the chill out of the cabin in no time. And of course, the outhouse comes with a view as well. Water supply is from the lake.
A creek running by the cabin cools your drinks on hot days

Right in front of the cabin is the outside fireplace with a picknic table.ready to cook your fish from the lake.

The shelter by the cabin used to be an outdoor  kitchen before the cabin was built. It served the family well for many years when setting up summer camp.
